I am a backend web developer at my core, but I am continuously learning other technologies. For example, I like mess around with hardware development from time to time, building small gaming consoles and IoT devices for my home among other things. In June 2018, I built an oil rig inspection report management system using WordPress for Savanna Energy Services that was able to keep track of responses from oil rig operators, manage the status of each found issue on a report, and restrict who in the organization can access which reports. From August 2018 until March 2019, I supported the development and customization of a new content management system and website for Oasis of Hope, a non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life for an under-resourced community in North Memphis. I spent the summer of 2019 teaching children to code at a local underprivileged school in South Memphis. I also worked at a local Code Ninjas “dojo” where I oversaw students’ engagement and learning at Code Ninjas, helped them overcome challenges by leading them to solutions, and explained complex coding concepts.
